Arthur H. Twells RUA
Artist Bio
Arthur Twells was born in Nottingham in 1921. He has enjoyed widespread popularity and acclaim for his landscape scenes. Twells was granted a scholarship to Nottingham College of Art at the age of 11. He later left to work in textile design before joining the Navy. It was during his service that he travelled to Derry, where he would later settle with his wife.
During the 1960s, Twells popularity grew when he opened a studio at Shipquay Street, where he continued to exhibit regularly throughout Ireland and the UK.
