From 1975-1995, he was appointed as Head of Art at Campbell College and today he paints full time. As a painter, he is mainly known for his seascapes and landscapes.

Striving to capture the essence of not just the place but also the theme. His works have been showed in solo and group exhibitions in Belfast, Sligo, Dublin, Cumbria, New York and Pennsylvania.
