Peter Curling
Artist Bio
Peter Curling was born in Waterford in 1955 and lived in Co Clare before moving to England. Having won a scholarship to Millfield, he then went to Italy to study, which very much focused on the classical aspect of art. When he eventually moved back to Ireland, he began to have several successful exhibitions.
In 1977, Peter moved to Tipperary where he has been inspired by the landscape, however he continues to make regular trips to Venice. He prefers to choose subjects which are more intimate and unknown.
Particularly in the last couple of years, Curling has put a lot of energy and time into his works, which shows his dedication towards his subjects. His cartoons have also been known to reach high prices.
