Michael Smyth
Artist Bio
Michael Smyth was born in Belfast in 1962. Through an instinctual process, Smyth captures nature with rapidity and spontaneity. Using compositions of ambiguous backgrounds, expressionist brushstrokes and blurred colours, animals in motion are often a central focus of his paintings and sculptures. His work is held in major public and private collections, including the Ulster Bank Collection.
