John Stewart
Artist Bio
Born in Belfast in 1973, John Stewart began painting from an early age, continually pursuing art until he became a stained-glass artist after completing his education. Stewart works primarily in oil and acrylic, which mimics the vivid colours and shapes of his training in glass work. In 2008, he held his first exhibition in Belfast exhibiting thirty works on East Belfast’s industrial past which involved The Ropeworks and famous factory in Belfast, including also Titanic and Harland & Wolff’s history. Stewart’s inspiration comes from the city, focusing on the rich history of Belfast’s shipyards and workers.
