George Oyston

George Oyston (1860-1937) was born in North Shields, England and favoured landscapes, river scenes and genre subjects. Working in both watercolours and oils, he often painted picturesque scenes from around the River Thames and countryside views in Surrey and Hampshire.
He exhibited regularly with the Berwick Club in Newcastle and was a member of both the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
