Selling Antiques

Ross's is Northern Irelands premier auction house.  We have over three quarters of a century of experience in the valuation, cataloguing and sale of antiques, fine art and furniture. We look forward to advising you as a seller at Ross's. 

We offer a valuation service in our salerooms or we can arrange for a valuer to visit your home by appointment. Ross's recommend initially sending photographs. You may send your photographs by e-mail to info@rosss.com or complete the online valuation form by clicking here. Our valuers offer friendly informed professional advice in the strictest confidence.

A reserve may be agreed on goods consigned for sale with a member of Ross's. Reserves should be agreed in writing with the auctioneers not later than twenty four hours prior to the auction. 

Payment is issued three weeks from the date of sale by way of cheque together with a detailed statement. However payment will only be made when all monies due from the buyer have been paid and cleared in accordance with our conditions of sale. All payments are made in sterling, unless otherwise instructed.

Sellers Commission: The standard commission for all categories sold at Ross's is 18.5% of the hammer price. The commission is subject to VAT at the prevailing rate. 

Insurance: Unless otherwise instructed in writing by the seller, all lots shall be insured under Ross's policy. A charge of 1.5% of the hammer price is levied in accordance with our conditions of sale. Lots not covered under this policy remain completely at the sellers own risk.

Photography & Illustrations: Catalogue illustrations are inserted at the discretion of the auctioneers. Illustration charges are subject to change. 

VAT: VAT is charged on the above deductions at the prevailing rate.
