Nigel Allison
Artist Bio
Nigel Allison was born in Kellswater, County Antrim, in 1971. In the 1990s he began studying Graphic Design in Belfast and went on to work as a Graphic Designer within a local advertising firm. Always interested in painting and design, Allison held his first solo exhibition in Clotsworthy House in 2000.
He has exhibited across Ireland, the UK and the United States. His work is rooted in the rural world, with a focus on farming life, country scenes and seascapes, particularly those based in Northern Ireland.
Having spent some time living in England, Allison is currently based in Ballymena and exhibits much of his work at the Nigel Allison Gallery in Broughshane.
